Chiefs quartet named in Bafana squad

New Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has named four Kaizer Chiefs players in his squad to play Nigeria in an Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier.

Chiefs’ rear guard of goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, full-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele as well as central defenders Lorenzo Gordinho and Erick Mathoho are included in the squad that Baxter announced at Safa House this morning.

Amakhosi captain Khune is tipped for a captaincy role, while the lanky Mathoho is currently recovering from a concussion.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Khune, Williams, Keet

Defenders: Mphahlele, Coetzee, Hlatshwayo, Mathoho, Gordinho, Mobara, Langerman, Hlanti

Midfielders: Kekana, Dolly, Jali, Mokotjo, Furman, T. Zwane, Zungu, Ngoma

Strikers: Vilakazi, Tau, Manyama, Rantie, Gabuza, Erasmus
