Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Nasreddine Nabi believes the benefits of a full, uninterrupted week of training will be reaped in their Betway Premiership encounter against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane this afternoon, Sunday 8 December. He spoke exclusively to www.kaizerchiefs.com ahead of the match:

On preparation for the match:

We were fortunate to have a full week of training, which has gone well. It gave us the time to address some issues from our last game and also focus on what we want to do in our next game. We are well prepared after a very good week of training.

On the opposition, Polokwane City:

It is true they are a team that has been inconsistent in terms of results, but they are in a good place and are doing well in this league. It is going to be a very tough game, especially against a team that has had a good run against big teams. They won against Mamelodi Sundowns – their only defeat this season – so we know they will be highly motivated. We know to expect a game that will not be easy. We will be fully committed to get on the front foot and win every ball right from the start, and stay focused for the whole 90 minutes.

On the state of the squad:

Reeve (Frosler) is suspended following his red card against Richards Bay. We also have a couple of players injured. Dillon Solomons injured his hamstring against Royal AM. Mshini (Nkosingiphile Ngcobo) has a hip injury, and both players are anticipated to return in 3-4 weeks’ time. Given Msimango will also be absent due to illness.

Those are the players who are unavailable, but we are pleased to welcome Inacio Miguel back from suspension.
