Kaizer Chiefs reserves went down 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns reserves in closely fought top-of-the-table DStv Diski Challenge encounter on Sunday.
The result sees Masandadwana replace Amakhosi at the summit of the league table, although Chiefs have a game in hand after their fixture against Royal AM was postponed last weekend.
Amakhosi drop to fourth place but trail the leaders by only two points, and will reclaim top spot if they win their game in hand.
They host 12th placed Golden Arrows in their next assignment, on Saturday, 15 February, kicking off at 10:00am.
