Kaizer Chiefs players have been given a day off today and will only return to training tomorrow to prepare for the crunch league encounter against Black Leopards on February 2 in Thohoyandou, kick-off at 15:30.

The last encounter between the two sides was error-ridden and ended in a 2-2 draw at Ellis Park on September 15.

Amakhosi midfield maestro Doctor Khumalo described the break as important to the players. "In a way this will help to refuel the players," he said. "It's just a day but sometimes a day is just what you need to recharge."

Chiefs are back to their winning ways following a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Manning Rangers over the weekend. Prior to that, the Glamour Boys had gone nine matches without a win and this outcome could be just what the doctor has ordered.

After Leopards hunt, Amakhosi return home to host Golden Arrows four days later at Ellis Park then away to Free State Stars on February 9.
