Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves drew 1-all in an entertaining Gauteng Monday League fixture played at Eldorado Park Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The hosts started the stronger of the two sides with Gabriel Nkathi, a right back deployed in a leftback position for the game forcing a save and hitting a woodwork with a rebound. The referee was forced to stop the game few minutes after the first attempt following a heavy rain and lightning.

When the game resumed Chiefs started off where they left off with Nicholas Myrnhardt forcing a save from goalkeeper, Abraham Ngcobo.

Then winger, Itumeleng ‘Scara’ Moshobane watched his curler going just wide as the Glamour Boys looked for an opener.

There was no stopping ‘Scara’ in the 41st minute as he opened scoring with a beautiful goal, 1-0 to Chiefs at halftime.

Nicholas Myrnhardt was unlucky not to score midway through the second half as he watched his well taken free kick coming off the post with Downs goalkeeper, Abraham Ngcobo beaten.

In the 78th minute against the run of play, Mamelodi Sundowns grabbed an equaliser through a well taken goal from Qiniso Mahlobo.

Kaizer Chiefs tried in vain searching for a winner but it was too late as the game ended, 1 all.
