Amakhosi Reserves will face arch-rivals Orlando Pirates this weekend in a DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) festival match billed for the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Mpumalanga.

The Reserves Soweto Derby will be one of three derbies that are scheduled to take place in KwaMhlanga this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Chiefs Reserves continued their winning streak when they beat another Soweto side, Swallows FC Reserves, 3-1 at FNB Stadium last weekend.

Just like last week, coach Vela Khumalo’s team will once again be a bit thin due to some players representing the country at national level, and some being injured.

Amakhosi, who have two games in hand, are sixth on the log, with 35 points after 20 matches. The young Buccaneers are third on the DDC log, having collected 44 points in 22 matches.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates Reserves will lock horns on Sunday at midday.

Entry to see this mouthwatering Soweto Derby encounter is free at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

In the SAFA-run Gauteng Development League (GDL), the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy team will welcome Khatorus Hyper Academy to the Village on Saturday.

Chiefs and Kathorus Hyper will play four games in four age categories. The games will kick off in the morning with the under-13s and under-17s starting at 9am. They will be followed by the under-15 and under-19s at 10:30.

These games will be live on the SuperSport Schools app and website.
