Kaizer Chiefs coach Doctor Khumalo will be on the bench when Bafana Bafana take on England in a friendly international in Durban on Thursday.

This is after the former Bafana midfield genius was appointed assistant, along with Golden Arrows coach Khabo Zondo to help Jomo Sono for the game against England.

Sono was roped in at the eleventh hour to replace Ephraim "Shakes" Mashaba who refused to bow to pressure from officials to include some of the European based "rebels" in the squad for this important game.

Orlando Pirates development coach Augusto Palacios will be the team manager.

The new-look squad that includes nine European stars will assemble on Monday before jetting off to Durban. They will then return on a chartered flight on Wednesday along with the England squad to meet former state President Dr Nelson Mandela in Houghton.
