Kaizer Chiefs are away to Lamontville Golden Arrows this afternoon at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit for their seventh league fixture of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season, the same venue where Amakhosi kicked off the season against Kruger United at the beginning August.

Chiefs will be aiming for maximum points before the FIFA international break begins tomorrow, having drawn their last outing against Polokwane City in Polokwane. Arrows also shared the spoils last weekend when they visited Siwelele in Bloemfontein – both matches ended 1-1.

On the league table, Chiefs occupy fourth position with 12 points from six matches, while Arrows are placed eighth with seven points from their opening six encounters.

With Brandon Petersen sidelined by injury earlier this week, new signing Renaldo Leaner will make his debut in goal for Amakhosi after joining during the preseason. Another change sees Faiz Abrahams handed his first start, replacing Siphesihle Ndlovu, while Luke Baartman comes in for Etiosa Ighodaro.

Notably on the bench, Rushwin Dortley returns after being out for more than a season, and Thabiso Monyane has also made a recovery.

Coach Fernando Da Cruz has opted for a 3-4-3 formation.

Leaner debuts in goal.

Bradley Cross is on the left of defence, Thabo Moloisane in the centre, and Inacio Miguel on the right of the back three.

Last weekend’s goalscorer, Lebohang Maboe, and Mbongiseni Mthethwa combine in the midfield, supported by Pule Mmodi on the left and Reeve Frosler on the right.

Going forward, Abrahams operates on the left, Mfundo with Vilakazi on the right and Baartman leading the attack.

The captain armband will be worn by Miguel.

The referee for this afternoon is Jelly Chavani, with Brian Kganyago and Tumi Mohlala serving as assistants. Sanele Madhlophe is the fourth official.

This afternoon’s Betway Premiership clash between the Glamour Boys and Abafana Bes’thende kicks off at 15:00 at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspuit.

The match is also live on television on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv, with commentary on selected SABC radio stations. Regular updates will be provided on Kaizer Chiefs’ X (formerly Twitter).
