Chiefs are on the road again this evening as they visit Maritzburg United for a tricky DStv Premiership match at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

The teams are meeting for the third time this season, after one league encounter at FNB Stadium and a Nedbank round of 32 clash in Pietermaritzburg. Amakhosi won both matches, with the league fixture ending 3-0 in September and the cup match, 2-0 last month.

Chiefs come into the match on the back of three consecutive wins and want to extent the run by winning another match and improving their log position.

The Glamour Boys, who are back in KwaZulu-Natal for the eighth time this season. are in fourth position, with 34 points after 22 matches in the DStv Premiership, while Maritzburg are second from bottom, after collecting 21 points in 22 clashes.

Chiefs have Christian Saile Basomboli returning to the team following a suspension, as well as last weekend’s goal scorer, Ashley Du Preez, and Dillan Solomons. Both came on in the second half in the previous match after recovering from injury.

The team will, however, be without Siyabonga Ngezana, who received his fourth yellow card on Sunday against Casric Stars, and will miss this evening’s match.

Coach Arthur Zwane will bring Solomons in to replace Ngezana at the back; in attack Kabelo Mahlatsi will be replaced by Du Preez and Basomboli will come in for Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

Chiefs will still keep to their 4-5-1 formation this evening.

Brandon Petersen is the goalkeeper.

The defence will have S’fiso Hlanti on the left, Zitha Kwinika and Edmilson Dove at the centre of defence and Solomons on the right.

The two midfielders are Siyethemba Sithebe and Yusuf Maart.

Last weekend’s man of the match, Mduduzi Shabalala, will play in front of the two holding midfielders, with Du Preez on the left and Keagan Dolly on the right wing.

Basomboli is this evening’s main striker.

Dolly will captain the team.

The referee for this exciting clash is Xola Sitela. His assistants are Jantjie Dlamini and Lubabalao Pitsha. The fourth official is Eugene Mdluli.

The Glamour Boys and the Team of Choice will kick off at 20:00 at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. The DStv Premiership match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
