Premier Soccer League side Wits University have shown interest in Kaizer Chiefs junior international Damien Cornelli and Amakhosi are demanding no less than R200 000 for this future star, according to academy coach Farouk Khan.

"We obviously don’t want to lose this boy but if he has to go it must be for a good prize. I believe Wits are going to benefit tremendously in the long run should they sign him now," said Khan.

Cornelli has recently captured the attention of foreign scouts and was invited for trials in Denmark with first division side AGF.

Danish premier league side AGF somehow got hold of left-back Cornelli’s tape at junior national level and immediately invited the youngster in for trials. The Danes have obviously been impressed by the likes of Bafana Bafana international Sibusiso Zuma, who has had unmatched success with FC Copenhagen since joining them a couple of seasons ago.

"There’s a South African connection in Denmark with Josta (Dladla) the latest to go there,” said Cornelli on his return. "I have been there for two weeks and while there trained with both the first and second teams and played in a friendly match for the reserve teams."

The Kaizer Chiefs Development Academy, which is divided into four categories, has produced a number of quality players some of them play for the first team while others were lost to other PSL teams.
