The much-anticipated Kaizer Chiefs versus Orlando Pirates, the mother of all derbies in the South African football calendar, will no longer be played on December 20, 2003, the Premier Soccer League revealed on Tuesday.

The clash has been brought forward to Saturday, December 13 at Ellis Park commencing at 16h00.

In a letter sent to both teams, the PSL cite the Olympic qualifier taking place on the weekend of December 20 and 21, 2003 as the main reason for moving the fixture as Pirates has five players in the national under-23 squad.

Also due to the Ngoepe commission of enquiry that the said match must be played during day time preferably on weekends.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs versus Santos fixture, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 13 has now been moved to Saturday, December 20 at Ellis Park with a 20h00 kickoff time.
