The Kaizer Chiefs Reserve side will wrap up their 2022/23 season with a DStv Diski Challenge fixture against SuperSport United Reserves on Saturday in a festival of matches that will take place at the TUT Stadium in Pretoria.

Chiefs beat AmaZulu Reserves 2-0 in their last match, while SuperSport were 3-0 victors over Swallows FC Reserves.

The junior Matsatsantsa lead the division and will be crowned champions at this game after collecting an unassailable 62 points in 29 matches. Just like their senior team in the DStv Premiership, Chiefs Reserves are in 4th place on the DDC log, with 49 points.

Coach Vela Khumalo and his team are aiming to end on high and possibly spoil the party by making the champions sweat on the last day of the season. He admits, though, that it won’t be easy, as his boys have been busy with many games, having had to play catch-up matches in the last few weeks.

The big game will start at 11:30 on Saturday at Tshwane University of Technology grounds in Pretoria.

Tickets will be available at the venue and the match will be shown live on SuperSport PSL Channel 202.

In the Gauteng Development League (GDL), Chiefs Youth Academy Development teams will take on another Pretoria side when they meet Mamelodi Sundowns junior teams in four fixtures at Groenkloof Campus of the University of Pretoria on Sunday.

The first game will feature the under-13 teams, kicking off at 09:00. The under-15s will be next at 10:30, with the under-17s kicking off at 12:00. The last match of the day, at 14:00, will see the under-19s battle it out.

The GDL matches between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will also be live on SuperSport Channel 216 and SuperSport schools website.
