Chiefs Youth Teams Do Well in DDC and GDL

Five Kaizer Chiefs Youth teams had a great weekend after winning all their Gauteng Development League games and drawing the DStv Diski Challenge match.

The Reserve team hosted Golden Arrows at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday at 10:00. The game ended 2-2 with Donay Jansen and Wandile Duba scoring for Amakhosi.

Chiefs drew first blood then Arrows responded by equalising and then making it two. Chiefs had to come back from behind to level matters.

The result keeps Chiefs Reserves in 6th position with 42 points and Arrows Reserves also retain their 12th spot with 32 points. They have each played 27 DDC games.

In the Gauteng Development League, the young Amakhosi troops faced Kagiso Porto Academy at the Kaizer Chiefs Village.

The four young Amakhosi teams scored a total of 21 goals and only conceded a mere 3 goals in the GDL

The results are as follows:

  • Under 13: Kaizer Chiefs 6 – 0 Kagiso Porto
  • Under 15: Kaizer Chiefs 9 – 1 Kagiso Porto
  • Under 17: Kaizer Chiefs 4 – 1 Kagiso Porto
  • Under 19: Kaizer Chiefs 2– 1 Kagiso Porto

This coming week, the Reserve Team will be away to SuperSport United Reserves at Lucas Moripe Stadium in the DDC and the youth teams in the GDL will face Cosmos at Rand Stadium.
