The Kaizer Chiefs academy teams had a difficult day in their SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) tie against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Village on Sunday.

The U13s got the hosts off to a positive start, winning their match 3-1. However, the U15s went down 3-2 and U17s lost by the same score. With lightning flashing above Gauteng in the afternoon, the U19 fixture was abandoned as a safety precaution.

Next weekend, young Amakhosi have an away assignment against TS Galaxy at Marks Park, beginning as usual with the U13s kicking off at 9:00am on Saturday, 2 November.

In the DStv Diski Challenge, Kaizer Chiefs had a bye due to the withdrawal of Royal AM from the league competition. This Saturday, they come up against AmaZulu at the Dobsonville stadium in Dube, kicking off at 10:00am.
