Kaizer Chiefs will look to continue their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 season in their fifth league game of the campaign when they host Siwelele at the Dobsonville stadium on Sunday, with kickoff at 17:30.

Chiefs’ most recent game at the venue last season, when they defeated Democratic Republic of Congo side, AS Simba 3-1 in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second-leg game.

Chiefs’ rivalries in league games with Free State teams stretch back to 1971, when they first met Bloemfontein Celtic; this rivalry simmered for over 40 years before Celtic sold their franchise. Chiefs secured the 2004/05 league title with a 2-0 win over Celtic at the Free State Stadium and have, over the years, created strong rivalries with various other clubs from the province.

This is the third league meeting between Chiefs and Siwelele. The corresponding fixture at the FNB Stadium last season ended 0-0.

Have continued their preparations for the game and coach, Fernando Da Cruz is hopeful of having a strong selection of fit players to choose from. Chiefs, like Siwelele, do not have any suspensions for the game and will be looking to go unbeaten in their first five league games for the second season in a row.

Amakhosi come into this game having won two and drawn two of their opening four league matches and will target three points to take their overall points tally to 11 and ensure they keep pace with the frontrunners.
