The Motsepe Foundation has announced their sponsorship of the 2nd Division SAFA League. The Chairman of the Motsepe Foundation Patrice Motsepe made the ground breaking announcement on Monday night at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The sponsorship is worth R40million for the duration of five years.

In his handover speech Motsepe acknowledged the two most prominent soccer personalities, Mr Kaizer Motaung, the Kaizer Chiefs Executive Chairman and Dr Irvin Khoza, the Orlando Pirates supremo.

Describing Mr Motaung, "I have known Kaizer Motaung and Dr Irvin Khoza since I was a little boy. Kaizer has made a unique and unequaled contribution to the development of soccer in South Africa. I call him the father of SA football because he has made a huge contribution in soccer," said Motsepe.
