Kaizer Chiefs are still in pole position for a place in the annual Telkom Charity Cup after amassing over 3055 votes at lunch time on Friday with archrivals Orlando Pirates, who are the defending champions, in second place with 2545 votes.

Amakhosi, who have been leading the race for the worthy cause from the first day, had amassed over 3055 votes (unaudited) by 12:30pm and Pirates are second with 2545.

Surprise team Black Leopards have overtaken Sundowns and now sitting fourth with 1598 while the Pretoria-based side have down one notch with 1502 votes.

Moroka Swallows, who finished sixth in last season’s league campaign, are now fifth with 1267 while Ria Stars are closest to the Dube Birds with 258 votes.

The voting lines have been operational since Tuesday morning and close on midnight July 19.

However, results from the first day had to be discarded after daily newspaper Sowetan mixed up voting numbers for Ria Stars and Orlando Pirates.

The announcement of the four teams and draw will take place on July 22 and the tournament itself on July 27 at FNB Stadium.

You can check the results on www.charitycup.co.za daily to see how is your team doing.
