The Iwisa Legends were hammered 4-0 by Orlando Pirates Master in the curtain-raiser for the Soweto derby that ended 1-1 at FNB Stadium on Saturday. But Iwisa Legends chairperson Emy Casaletti-Page was not bothered by the huge scoreline.
"The purpose of these games is not winning at all costs," she said. "The primary aim is to entertain the supporters who come early to the stadium. A win is only a bonus and I was really impressed by our Legends against Pirates, who fielded a younger team as opposed to ours."
Casaletti-Page said the team was geared up for the Sundowns game and that they would start training on Tuesday. "We beat them (Sundowns Masters) in Rustenburg and I don't foresee any difficulties this time around. We are going to whip them," she said.
The Iwisa Legends are currently without a coach but Casaletti-Page said the team management was looking at appointing Lucky Stalliano as head coach. The team to face Sundowns will be announced on Tuesday.
Veteran Fani Madida is doubtful for the match due to injury while former Chiefs defender and Sundowns coach Neil Tovey is also doubtful as he is expected in the SuperSport studio for match analysis.
"While we are not driven by the outcome, we nevertheless take these games seriously. Hence we will name a refreshed squad for the Wednesday game," Casaletti-Page said.
