Kaizer Chiefs were among the seeded teams in Thursday’s 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup First Preliminary Round draw. As a seeded side, Amakhosi received a bye and will enter the fray in the Second Preliminary Round.

This means Chiefs will not feature in the competition’s opening fixtures, scheduled for 4-6 September (first-leg) and 11-13 September (second-leg). Instead, their CAF Confederation Cup journey will commence towards the end of October, when they will face the winner of the First Preliminary Round tie between the 2026 Zambian Cup champions, Red Arrows and the 2026 Madagascan Cup winners, FC Rogues.
