After picking up our first away win of the season against Swallows FC on Wednesday night, Kaizer Chiefs will be on the road again, with the team heading to Cape Town to take on Stellenbosch FC in another DStv Premiership match on Sunday.

This will be the two teams’ second meeting of the season, having already faced each other in the MTN8 quarter-finals at a packed Danie Craven Stadium late in August. The final score in that match was 1-1 after 120 minutes and Chiefs advanced to the semi-finals on penalties.

Sunday’s league encounter follows the two teams’ victories in their respective midweek engagements, the hosts beating Maritzburg United 3-0, and Amakhosi winning 2-1 against the Dube Birds.

Chiefs will go in to the match minus regular starter and former Stellenbosch FC defender, Zitha Kwinika. The Amakhosi’s centre-back received his fourth caution on Wednesday night and has to sit this game out through suspension, after featuring in all Chiefs’ matches so far this season,.

Stellenbosch lie a point behind Chiefs on the log with 13 points after nine games each. Chiefs are 5th and Stellies are one place below them in the standings.

The 10th DStv Premiership fixture for the teams this season will take place at the Cape Town Stadium, with kick-off set for 15:30 on Sunday, 9 October. Tickets are sold through TicketPro, including Spar Supermarkets from R80 per ticket.
