Coach Steve Komphela has decided to start with quite a different line-up against Stellenbosch FC than the one for last week’s Soweto Derby. However, Erick ‘Tower’ Mathoho will continue at centre-back, which means that the lanky defender will play in his 150th official game wearing the Gold and Black jersey (142 starts and 8 subs).
Otherwise, Brilliant Khuzwayo will be in goal, Kgotso Moleko at right-back, Daniel Cardoso will partner ‘Tower’ in the centre of defence, while Sibusiso Khumalo will start ahead of Tshepo Masilela at left-back.
The Venezuelan striker Gutavo Páez will also get a rare start, while Lucky Baloyi will get a chance to prove himself in the central midfield role.
Kaizer Chiefs face Stellenbosch FC tonight on the road in a Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash at Cape Town’s Athlone Stadium (kick-off is at 20:15).
The clash will be refereed by Thando Ndzandzeka.
