Willard Katsande crowned his fine performance at the Soweto Derby with a headed goal in the 61st minute of the entertaining clash.

The resultant goal from an exquisite corner kick by Siphiwe Tshabalala would prove to be a winning goal in front of a capacity filled FNB Stadium.

Katsande distinguished himself by dominating in the heart of Chiefs midfield. The hard man swept every ball that came on his way and thwarted every Pirates' move in the middle of the park.

Playing in his 74th official game since becoming a Glamour Boy in 2011, Katsande's display was described by Coach Baxter at the Post-match Press Conference as follows, "Katsande played his best football today," said Baxter.

Katsande was rewarded for his efforts with a 'Man of the Match' award, courtesy of the league backers, Absa. Katsande bagged his 3rd 'Man of the Match' in this Psl season.

"It's not about me, it's about hard work and the Team performance. We wanted the three points and that's what matters most. Obviously I am happy with my individual performance and contribution to this win and would like to thank my Teammates for team work we displayed today," said Katsande responding to the accolade.
