The 10 finalists of the Nissan Spin & Win competition had come to The Village for the final activation of the competition that started back in August.
Brand Manager Dara Carroll, Public Relations Manager Thebe Mohatle, Supporters Club Retail Manager Emmanuel Khumalo, together with stars, Josta “JD” Dladla, Kaizer Motaung Jr, Jose Torrealba and Thabang Rooi were present on behalf of the Club, while Events Manager Joey McCall-Peat, Amanda Howie and Carron Haarhoff represented Vehicle Partners, Nissan.
It was a fun-filled day that saw a number of Amakhosi faithful also coming out to support the event. They were entertained with good music and the MC of the day was Fezile Makhanya.
Joey McCall-Peat explained to kaizerchiefs.com how the competition went: “We started back in August and the competition had three legs to the activation.
The first was during Kaizer Chiefs' home games and fans attending the game would send SMSes and those randomly chosen would get to answer a question related to the Club or Nissan. The three winners would spin the wheel to win Kaizer Chiefs Merchandise, a Nissan hamper or Club membership.”
“The second activation was through Nissan test drives at the Shisa Nyamas around Johannesburg and Pretoria. The third and the last was when the fans entered the SMS competition that was flighted on KCTV and we got six winners out of that. I must say, the response from the public was phenomenal and not only the Club's fans entered the competition. Fans of the opposition teams entered as well.
We congratulate the winner, Smanga Khumalo, who at the end walked away with this wonderful car,” she said.
Public Relations Manager, Thebe Mohatle, who gave a moving speech during the function, paid a glowing tribute to sponsors Nissan for their generosity. “Nissan embraced our family to fuel a Kaizer Chiefs steam engine that undoubtedly carved a successful sporting and a business niche in our country.
"They came on board, not only to provide resources but also to strengthen our vision and mission and add value into our organisation. Against the background of a struggling financial recession, they remained committed to the relationship and have gone further to generously make a difference by rewarding our supporters for their loyalty and patriotism to the brand, Kaizer Chiefs.”
