“It was a good experience for me,” reflects George Lebese, following his return from South America where the Kaizer Chiefs winger was on duty with Bafana Bafana.
“I learnt a lot during the tour and especially in the two games we played.”
Erick Mathoho and Itumeleng Khune were also part of the South Africa squad. Lebese played for 78 minutes (against Costa Rica) and 34 minutes (against Honduras).
“I am working hard and I want to achieve things this season,” pledges Lebese, who has already notched two Man of the Match awards this season. “Hard work pays off and this is what I am doing to improve my game.”
The Bafana Bafana trio returned to hard work at their Club, Driven to Excel when they face Jomo Cosmos in an Absa Premiership fixture at Olen Park Stadium on Tuesday evening (kick-off is at 19:30).
“I don’t feel fatigued,” Lebese stresses, despite the delayed and long journey back from Honduras. “I feel fresh and I am ready to play when I am selected.
