“We have a full strength squad to travel to Bethlehem,” said coach Steve Komphela, while watching his lads putting the finishing touches at their pre-match training ahead of their trip to Bethlehem this afternoon. “It is another match that will not be any different from the other matches we have played this season. It is going to be tough.”

Amakhosi travel to Bethlehem’s Goble Park Stadium to face the unpredictable Free State Stars on Wednesday night (kick-off is at 19:30).

“Camaldine (Abraw) is included in the traveling squad,” revealed Komphela.

The Togolese striker has been sidelined by a knee injury and missed the past three games, against the University of Pretoria, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic.

“We are happy to have him (Abraw) back and available for selection because this will give us options upfront,” the Chiefs coach added.

In the previous thirteen Absa Premiership outings Amakhosi got the better of Ea Lla Koto on nine occasions, suffering one loss and playing three draws in the process.

“We will miss the services of Keegan (Ritchie) and Lorenzo (Gordinho) for this match,” confirmed Komphela regarding the suspensions of the two fullbacks. Ritchie collected his fourth booking against Bloemfontein Celtic and Gordinho got his marching orders at Mamelodi Sundowns. “With Ritchie suspended, Tsepo (Masilela) will return to the starting line-up and we welcome that even though Ritchie played well in the past three matches.”

Masilela limped off with a muscle strain during the Ajax Cape Town encounter on 16 April. He missed the University of Pretoria, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic matches with Ritchie deputising in his regular position.

“We expect nothing but a tough match against Stars,” Komphela commented. “We will not underestimate them at all. They have done well in the league and are in the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup. We know we have to dig deep to return with the maximum points.”

Amakhosi go into the match occupying the fourth spot with 45 points while Ea Lla Koto occupy eleventh place with 34 points. Both teams have played 28 games.
