Assistant coach, Donald “Ace” Khuse has said as the Technical Team they are pleased with the performance of the team against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Chiefs played the game with players who have not seen lot of action this season. Players like Knowledge Musona who has made appearances only as a substitute this season, Arthur Zwane playing in the unfamiliar midfield position, Abel Metsimetsi and others raised their hands ahead of the crucial fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We were pleased with the contribution of all the players in particular those who have not been seeing some game time. It was a positive exercise going to Macufe for both the Technical Team and the players. The guys who played all showed that they have what it takes to deliver for the team. It is exciting going to the fixture against Sundowns this weekend with players all showing they are ready to do the business when called to do so,” said Ace Khuse who himself took part in the curtain raiser that saw Chiefs legends hammering their counterparts by 4-2.

“The guys have now to show at training that their performance on Sunday was not a once off. It is very important that they keep their feet on the ground and anything in football is possible,” said Ace.

The Chiefs legend also defended the decision to leave behind some of the players for the Celtic game who did well against Ajax Cape Town the previous week.

“Players that did well against Ajax needed to be rested for Celtic clash. We did not want to risk any of the regular players as we have a very tight fixture schedule this month. After Sundowns we will be facing Moroka Swallows, Golden Arrows and then Orlando Pirates,” concluded Khuse.
