Kaizer Chiefs were back at training on Tuesday in preparation for their Absa Premiership fixture against log leaders, Ajax Cape Town at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Kick off for the game is at 15:00.

Chiefs’ title ambitions took a huge knock on Sunday when they lost to Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld.

“We still have to go out and win the remaining games,” said a visibly disappointed Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday morning.

“The players are down following the defeat against Sundowns but we are professionals and we know that our fans expect us to win against Ajax on Saturday. It is our home game at Peter Mokaba Stadium, a pitch where at times we have played our best football this season,”

Vermezovic also defended his charges following the defeat at Loftus, “I am proud of what this team has achieved this season. They gave it all against Sundowns and our intention following SuperSport United victory against Pirates was to win the game. I am not going to start pointing fingers,”

“In football, it is simple if you do not take your chances then you get punished. We need to go back to training and rectify our mistakes. We will be ready for Ajax Cape Town on Saturday,” added Vermezovic.

Tickets for the game are already on sale at Shoprite/Checkers and Computicket countrywide.
