He believes should Chiefs go on a long unbeaten run in the next few months they would be able to break away from the rest of the teams in the title hunt.
“Whoever can manage at this point to win between five and seven games in a row will place themselves in a strong position to win the league, the possibility of them being league Champions increases” divulged Letsholonyane.
According to the Amakhosi midfielder he is not certain that despite a number of teams being in the title race at this stage that the title will be decided on the final day of the season in May, he is hopeful though that Chiefs will be in the championship race all the way through.
As he further added, “like I said if anyone can go on a long unbeaten run than I truly believe that the title will be won before the final weekend and it will not go down to the wire, I always knew that we would at the halfway stage be in the title race, and I am not surprised that we find ourselves so close to the top.
If we want to remain in the title race we need to be consistent and we need to be that team that goes on a long unbeaten run, I feel that we have all the characteristics of a team who can achieve that. There is a will to want to win in this team, we have the physical and mental attributes needed to push on in the next few months and hopefully it will end successfully for us.”
Reneilwe furthermore believes it will be important for Chiefs to duplicate some of the important wins they recorded in the first round of league games particularly against teams in the top five of the league standings when they face those teams for a second time.
“Each game is important the ones against the title contender are extremely cruical, we fighting for the same position as them it means that we need to take points off them, we have managed to do so once this season against some of the other top teams and we need to do so again.”
Letsholonyane will miss out on Chiefs game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday as he is suspended for the match but he is looking forward to making a return to action this weekend when the Amakhosi host Maritzburg United.
“I am hoping to feature on Saturday against Maritzburg and am looking forward to getting back in action, I do believe that the guys will do a good job away against Celtic which will put us in a positive frame of mind for our game at home on the weekend.”
