The tickets for the Derby between archrivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have been sold out. The motorists have been advised to ensure that they buy their parking ticket at the Computicket. The magnitude of this titanic battle has proven to be a show-stopper in South Africa’s sporting and entertainment calender over the decades, and this time will not be different.



The transportation and parking logistics are being put in place. Foremost the supporters are advised that there will be no drinking and braaing allowed in the parking areas. Supporters are encouraged to make their way into the stadium when they arrive. Under no circumstances will intoxicated persons be allowed access into the stadium.



Furthermore, the PSL, SMSA, SAPS, the ESSPC and the stadium security as well as their respective duly authorised officials reserve the right to prevent any person from bringing in any item into the stadium, which is reasonably considered to be a danger or risk to the general event. The stadium has a strict No Smoking Policy and urges patrons to adhere to these smoke-free restrictions within the Stadium.



Also important is that all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Should you need immediate assistance, please notify the nearest event staff member or security personnel. Guests are encouraged to report issues and concerns to a nearby event staff member:

The following routes to the stadium are recommended: Route 1 (General Public). To avoid delays, it is recommended that the general public approaches the Stadium from the South via Rand Show Road. (Access off N1 - north & south).



NB: M1 north & south from Nasrec interchange to the City & Pretoria splits will be closed off due to filming.



Route 2 (VIP & Hospitality). To avoid delays, it is recommended that VIP and hospitality ticket holders approach the Stadium from the North via the N17 (access off the N1 – north & south) and from the East via NASREC Road as well as Booysens Reserve Road.





Route 3 (Public Transportation). The special event public transportation arrangements have been put in place for the match – Park & Ride, all Rea Vaya & Train Station will provide parking to the general public using these service providers to attend the match.



Transportation:



The TOP SIX TAXIS fare is as follows: To FNB Stadium R10 and R12 return. Drop off points will be at the stadium transport hub and pick-up points are as follows at JHB CBD from Noord street, the Bridge Taxi Rank, Bree Street Taxi Rank, Commissioner and Vonweilligh Street Taxi Rank and Von Brandis and Marshall Street Taxi Rank. From Soweto at Baragwanath, Moroka Police Station, Maponya Mall, Kliptown Taxi Rank, Dobsonville Police Station, Meadowlands Police Station, Phefeni Taxi Rank, Cross Road Taxi Rank and Dube Station Taxi Rank.



KTK MINI BUS SHUTTLES pick up-point is the Grautrain Park Station from 12:00 to 15:00. The cost for a single trip is R25 and R50 for the return trip. To Book a seat, please call or SMS – Khosina 073 176 1126.



Metrorail train services will be operating trains at a cost of R20 (return) from Vereeniging, Leralla, Springs, De Wildts, Mabopane, Pienaarspoort, Saulsville and Johannesburg. Trains will be operating from 11:30 to the stadium and from 17:30 back to the respective destinations.



BRT – REA VAYA will be providing services from Ellis Park, Library Garens, C1 Dobsonville and Thokoza Park. Single trip cards at a cost of R13 and return trip cards at R25. Loading of the smart card can be done at all Rea Vaya stations and Soccer City kiosk. Busses will operate from 11:15 onwards. For enquiries, please contact 011 2985255.



A large crowd is expected in and around the FNB Stadium and the NASREC precinct. In order to avoid the historical traffic congestion come early. Most importantly, public transportation will be the main form of transport to the FNB Stadium.
