All Systems Go For Carling Black Label Cup

The Stadium Management held a press conference in close conjunction with Carling Black Label ahead of the derby this Saturday. The purpose of the conference was to outline all logistical and traffic management plans for the media ahead of the titanic battle between archrivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.



The panel consisted of SMSA, Carling Black Label and the JMPD, with the Soweto Giants represented at the event.



“The Soweto derby is the biggest match in the country, and providing the best entertainment ever,” enthuses Stadium Management South Africa CEO, Jacques Grobbelaar.



The tickets for the mouth-watering match are sold out. Only parking tickets are still on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers nationwide. “We can confidently say that we are well on track to staging what we anticipate to be one of the biggest and most memorable football event,” confirms Carling Black Label General Manager, Vijay Govinsamy.

FNB Stadium Precinct General Parking: R30


FNB Stadium VVIP: R120


FNB Stadium Transport Hub Exclusive Parking: R80


FNB Stadium Transport Hub Bus Parking: R300



“There will not be road closures as usual. The only road closures will be at the Soweto Highway and around the FNB Stadium precinct,” confirms JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.



The supporters are urged to arrive early at the stadium, the gate will be opened at 12:00 for the 15:00 kick-off.



Some of the guidelines mentioned at the match include: The fans are not allowed to bring food and drinks to the stadium and must be aware of illegal parking marshals. The illegal parking marshals will be arrested this time around.



Transportation will be provided by Top 6 Taxis, Rea Vaya, Metrorail and KTK Shuttles.



Meanwhile, Carling Black Label will be providing Durban fans with a live public viewing of the match at Peoples Park East Moses Mabhida Stadium Park from 12:00. Tickets to access the public viewing are sold at Computicket for R50.



For the countdown to the fifth Carling Black Label Cup edition, Kaizer Chiefs will host Lesedi FM OB as part of the Village vibe, at the Club headquarters in Naturena on Friday, 31 July 2015. The broadcast will start at 07:00 – 09:00 Chomane Chomane and Lebina Mohale with Ha Re Ye followed by Re a Kubeletsa at 15:00-18:00 with Ba2Cada and Twasa.
