Coach Steve Komphela was visibly disappointed with Wednesday’s draw against Bloemfontein Celtic. “It’s another two points lost,” he laments. “We just have to keep grinding.”
Kaizer Chiefs are now in sixth position on the Absa Premiership, having collected 18 points from 13 matches.
The coach also had to endure some set-backs, as both George Lebese (lower back problem) and George Maluleka (groin injury) had to be substituted during the Celtic encounter.
“Eleven to twelve players are injured at present,” Komphela admits. “However, I don’t want to use this as an excuse.”
About Sunday’s match against Polokwane City, the Amakhosi mentor says: “We are looking for two wins from the remaining two games before the festive season and Africa Cup of Nations break.”
Chiefs haven’t won for nine encounters in a row, but Komphela remains positive: “All we need is a win. We want to go into the break on the back of good results to put a smile on the face of our supporters.”
Tickets for Sunday’s match are on sale for R40 at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide.
