Bernard Parker was Thursday evening the match winner, scoring the sole goal in Kaizer Chiefs’ 1-0 win over AmaZulu. It was his fifth Absa Premiership goal this season.
The 29-year-old striker was selected as the Man of the Match after Amakhosi’s 25th league game of the season.
“If we stay locked at the back,” reflected Parker afterwards, “meaning, we give nothing away, it’s up to the strikers to do the business upfront.”
Amakhosi are still on top of the league log with 57 points from 25 matches. There are still five league games to go with Chiefs having a ten-point lead ahead of nearest rivals Mamelodi Sundowns. The Brazilians, however, have one game in hand (47 points from 24 encounters).
“Alles sal regkom (everything will be ok),” concluded Parker with a broad smile.
