After stylishly eliminating Mpumalanga Black Aces from the Telkom Knockout Cup this past weekend, Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach Steve Komphela is confident his team can emerge victorious once again when they meet the same opposition in the Absa Premiership clash at the FNB stadium on Tuesday evening. The match was due to be played last weekend but was postponed to accommodate the Bafana schedule.
“I am satisfied with the win in the Cup but there are no thoughts of resting on our laurels because we are focused on doing it all over again,” he said. “Aces are a proud club and they will be determined to rebound from their loss, but I believe our performance against them gives us the confidence to go into the match with the momentum in our favour and our aim is to take all three points on Tuesday.”
The defending league champions are yet to taste defeat this season and a victory will keep them well positioned among the early front runners in their bid to retain the title.
“It is fantastic to be through to the last four in the Telkom Knockout. The fans on Saturday were tremendous and played their traditional part in Driving the team to Excellence,” said Chiefs marketing director, Jessica Motaung. “Our attention now shifts to facing Aces in the league which, in a wider context, is as vital as the Cup match, and we look forward to another gathering of the Kaizer Chiefs family at FNB. It will be a wonderful boost for our players to go into battle against a backdrop of passionate and unwavering support.”
Fans will be allowed to use the tickets they bought for the original game on 17 October.
The match kicks off at 19h30 on Tuesday, 27 October 2015 at the FNB stadium in Soweto. Tickets are available at Computicket, as well as all Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide, at R40 for adults, R10 for children under the age of 12 and R20 for parking.
