Kaizer Chiefs’ hard work on the field of play paid off when the duo of coach Giovanni Solinas and Khama Billiat were named the Absa Premiership Coach and Player of the Month respectively.
The awards follow the team’s great performances that saw Amakhosi collect maximum points against Cape Town City FC, Free State Stars and AmaZulu FC in September.
“I am happy for the team I work with – all credit must go to them,” said Solinas. “Kaizer Chiefs are about winning trophies and we are working hard to achieve that goal.”
Attacking midfielder Khama Billiat, who has already won a number of Man of the Match awards this season, believes that winning these two PSL monthly awards bodes well for the team. “It means the team is doing well and all that is needed for the momentum to be carried throughout the season.”
Solinas and Billiat will each receive R5 000 in cash from Absa.
