The long journey towards title defence begins in Giyani on Saturday where champions Kaizer Chiefs will test their battle tools against Dynamos in a Castle Premiership match set for a 15:15 kick-off.
The Giyani-based team may have just avoided relegation last season but they will still be a tough nut to crack in their own backyard.
Chiefs did the double over Dynamos last season with 1-0 wins in both League encounters. The match will be a home coming for David Mathebula and Simphiwe Mbambo who left Dynamos to join the Amakhosi in the off season.
Key Player:
Dynamos: Tonic Chabalala. The tough tackling defender was one of the few bright stars in the Dynamos outfit last season and will be out to prove his ability against the defending Champions
Chiefs: Tinashe Nengomasha. Last season’s Castle Premiership Player of the Year will be hoping to pick up where he left last season as the country’s best midfielder. He has not had much of a break in the off season due to his international commitments but he will still be raring to go as a move overseas seems likely at the end of the this season.
Coaches:
Dynamos: Anteneh Eshete
Chiefs: Ted Dumitru
League position last season:
Dynamos: 14th
