Playing and technical staff member will return to work on the 10th January 2006 with all players having to report back to the team manager at 10h00 am on the above mentioned day.
With the festive period fast approaching and most of the country on holiday, staff at the Kaizer Chiefs Village will soon be joining the rest of the country on the beaches as the Amakhosi will be shut down over the Christmas and New Years holidays.
Chiefs play their last, competitive game of 2005 on Thursday afternoon against Black Leopards in Thoyandou, the game, which was originally scheduled for the 23rd of December, was brought one day forward, which meant that the players and coaching staff would be able to be home for Christmas. As most of them feared that if the game had been played on the 23rd the earliest time that they could have been home would have been either late on Christmas Day, or some time on Boxing Day.
With the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations being played in Egypt from the 20th January - 10 the February 2006 all PSL fixture’s for this period have been suspended, which means that Chiefs first league game of 2006 will be against Dynamos on the 17th February. Kick-off time and venue for this game will be confirmed early in the New Year.
The Amakhosi will how ever be keeping fit during the Nations Cup by continuing with their training regime and will play a number of friendly games in this time. The details of which will be made available when the team returns to training on the 10th January.
