Prior to their departure from South Africa on Sunday evening a group of representatives from FC Moscow, the Amakhosi’s opposition in an international exhibition game on Saturday paid a visit to the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena.

The group lead by coach Leonid Sluitkski were taken aback by the facilities at the Village, causing the visiting coach to comment “what I see here is very impressive, in Russia and in some of the more developed European countries teams in the top division do not have such highly developed facilities”.

When questioned about the Amakhosi’s on field abilities as they pushed is team all the way on Saturday evening in a pulsating game which Moscow ran out victors via a penalty shoot out he said “we expected a tough game but not as hard as it was Chiefs pushed us all the way”. Sluitski also enjoyed the skilful and energetic style of Chiefs as he further commented “African players posses certain flair and it is always enjoyable to watch African teams because I learn a lot from their style and energy”.

The FC Moscow coach did comment before the game that he had his eye on certain players and when questioned if any Chiefs players good be on the way to Russia his quick fire answer was “there is definitely one player we have had our eye on there is another one two guys I think can fit well into our team I have spoken to my chairman about it and we will work on bringing them to FC Moscow”.

Talk was also rife before the game that FC Moscow could pull one over the Amakhosi because with in their ranks lay former Chiefs midfielder Stanton Fredericks who helped give them the upper hand. “Some times in soccer you need luck on this occasion our lucky charm was Stanton Fredericks.

FC Moscow flew out of Johannesburg on Sunday evening and headed to Portugal where they will continue their pre season preparations, from Portugal they will jet off to Spain to compete in a tournament with Scandinavian and Russian teams before going back home for the new season which kicks off in March.
