Kaizer Chiefs Vs Maritzburg United

Vodacom Loftus Stadium, Tshwane

Premier Soccer League

Kick Off: 15h45

Weather: 30 °C

The Amakhosi arrived at Loftus Stadium in the Capital City Tshwane in confident mood, as they prepare to face a team who have won just one out of their last five outings in the league.

Chiefs though will be on the look out of being complacent on Sunday as their fans in and around the capital have come out in a sizeable number to welcome Chiefs to what will be their home for the rest of the season.

To matters on the field of play and Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has opted, to keep ten of the players who started in last Saturday’s epic draw with Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium.

The only change to his line up from the Pirates game sees David Radebe make way for Shaun Bartlett whose injury time header against Pirates earned Chiefs a point, in a very un authordox manner. Bartlett though will be looking to repeat his goal scoring form which has seen him find the net in the last three league games that he has played in.

Chiefs also welcome back to the game day squad Cyril Nzama who has been out of action since the 25th of November as he has been carrying around a hamstring injury, also making a welcome return to the game day squad is Gert Schalkwyk. The Chiefs midfielder comes back into the fray after being given a compassionate leave recently, as he took time off to attend the funeral of his father which recently took place in the North West Province.

Striker Serge Djiehoua returns to the squad after being left out of the Pirates game, the Ivorian was one the bench when Chiefs defeated Amazulu by two goals to nil on the 6th December in Durban.
