Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic had fourteen players missing for his training session on Friday morning, as the Amakhosi returned to the training ground after having a day off on Thursday as they were in league action in Polokwane on Wednesday evening.

With ten first team members away on international duty and a further four out injured, and having co-incidentally just fourteen players to work with on Friday the Chiefs coach is looking beyond his team’s midweek loss to Golden Arrows and his focusing his and his team’s energy on returning to winning way when they return to action in a fortnight’s time.

“We have already forgotten this game against Arrows, fortunately for us the other teams at the top of the table did not capitalise on our slip up and we still in touch with the leaders.

We sad that we did not get the three points, at the end of the day we did not do enough to win the game, to win games against teams like Arrows you need to play well for the entire game.”

With the personnel available to him Vermezovic plans to keep them busy with a run out in a couple of friendly games, “we had fourteen players on the training ground on Friday, my hope is that some of the injured guys will join us in training next week.

We have a friendly game on Saturday and next weekend we going to be involved in the Macufe Cup and I think that we should have 16 guys available when we go to Bloemfontein. These games will help give us valuable game time during this period of inactivity.”

The Amakhosi mentor as he further explained is going to be working with his team in ensuring that they can pick out positive results in the games ahead, “we are aware as we saw against Arrows that we played well in the second half but our slow start effectively put us on the back foot in the game.

We will work to ensure better consistency from game to game, so that we are place ourselves in a strong position in each match and we will take it from there.

We have this time to work and we intend to utilize this opportunity to ensure that we ready to do just this when we start playing again.”
