With the PSL currently in recess the Kaizer Chiefs Legends team have been handed the opportunity of enjoying some time in the limelight, as soccer fans around the country wait for the new PSL season to kick off in August.

In the meantime, the Kaizer Chiefs Legends team have been making the most of the off-season by travelling around the country to play in a host of friendly and exhibition matches.

This past weekend their travels took them to Ermelo in Mpumalanga where they faced off with a local selection team and ran out emphatic 4-2 winners, as temperatures dipped close to freezing the local crowd braced the weather in order to spur on the Chiefs Legends.

As part of their visit to the area the team also paid a visit to a local Children’s hospital as team manager Lucky Staliano explains winning hearts off the field is part of the job. “Our way of giving back to the communities that we play in , is not just to travel play a match and leave, we want something meaningful to come out of it for us and the town. Visiting this hospital certainly made our trip worth while” added Staliano.

Further praise for their efforts in visiting the hospital and adding a smile to the kids faces was heaped upon the Kaizer Chiefs legends, by the mayor of Ermelo and some members of the local city council. The Kaizer Chiefs Legends are in action every weekend in different parts of the country, keep checking back to see if they will be visiting your town in the near future.
