Kaizer Chiefs were invited to attend and celebrate the Readathon Day 2002 by the Deputy Minister of Education Mosibudi Mangena at Park Town Station on Friday.

Striker Kenny Niemach and defender Nhlanhla Kubeka – both still recovering from injury - were the Amakhosi representatives at this occasion. The players mingle with the children from Gauteng Province, signed autographs and stressed how important it is to read.

Other celebrities like former boxing champion Baby Jake and David Phefeo from SABC soap Generations were also there to celebrate the Readathon day.

The players entertained the kids until the Edu Train from Metrorail arrived and took them to Pretoria where they spent the day with other role models and with the Deputy Minister of Education.
