Defending champions, Kaizer Chiefs, slipped to seventh on the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) log after going down 1-0 to AmaZulu at Wits Sturrock Park on Sunday morning.

The unfortunate result leaves them on six points, having won two and lost two of the four rounds of the national U-23 league to date. They will be determined to get back to the form that won them their first couple of fixtures when they travel to the University of Johannesburg Soweto stadium to face Siwelele on Saturday, 4 October, kicking off at 10:00am.

In the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), Amakhosi juniors won three of the four fixtures against Kathorus Hyper Academy at the Village on Saturday.

The U14s won their match by 2-1, followed by a 3-2 victory for the U15s, before the U17s found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 score. The U19s sent the Amakhosi fans home on a happy note, winning the final game of the day by 2-0.

On Saturday, 4 October, the academy teams visit Three Square stadium in Alexandra to play TS Galaxy in the next round of the competition.
