Amakhosi return to the Cape of Love & Peace to face Dikwena

The supporters made a call and Kaizer Chiefs responded with a buffet of three matches in the Cape of Love & Peace. The first match at home away from home was the 2-1 win over Bidvest Wits in December.

Next up is Platinum Stars, which like the first game in the Cape, is also an Absa Premiership fixture. The reigning league champions, Amakhosi, will face the ‘hard to crack’ Dikwena at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon, 24 January 2016 (kick-off is at 15:30).

“Cape Town is our home away from home this season,” Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung says. “We beat Bidvest Wits in our first home game in the Cape. We are not resting on our laurels. We are going all out to bring the best experience of Amakhosi to the Cape of Love & Peace.”

About the plans ahead of the game, Motaung comments: “Just as we did in December, we have organised several events in the build-up to the match. For example, there will be a KC Roadshow at the Kraaifontein Shopping Centre. We will also conduct a Soccer Clinic as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The clinic will be conducted by some of our top players.”

KC Roadshow logistics:

Saturday, 23 January, Kraaifontein Shopping Centre from 10:00 – 16:00

“There will always be something special for our followers,” concludes Motaung, referring to the special that will see two lucky Cape Town Online shoppers having their purchase delivered to their doorstep by either midfield maestro George Lebese or goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune. This opportunity exists when they purchase any product through the KC DigiStore.”

This unique promotion is only available to Cape Town KC Online shoppers and if you live within the 40km radius from Cape Town CBD. The promotion ends at 12h00 on Friday, 22 January, and if you live outside the 40km radius from Cape Town CBD a normal delivery process will apply.

“We are heading to Cape Town to continue where we left off against Wits in December,” states coach Steve Komphela. “It feels good to play at the Cape Town Stadium at the back of a good memory. We want to stamp our authority at our home games. When we look at our opponents, they come from a loss and they will want to rebound. It promises to be a tough match.”

Chiefs will be buoyant by the encouraging win over Bloemfontein Celtic last Sunday. The mood in the Amakhosi camp is therefore high.

Tickets for the three Cape of Love & Peace matches are available at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide at a cost of R60.
