Kaizer Chiefs will play their home game at the impressive World Cup Stadium, Nelson Mandela Bay when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic in what promises to be a thrilling affair on Saturday, 06 October 2012.

The game was previously scheduled for Peter Mokaba in Limpopo but due to the unavailability of the stadium this coming weekend Chiefs decided to move the game to the friendly province of the Eastern Cape.

It is an honour for the gold and black to play at a stadium that is named after iconic Dr Nelson Mandela whose name is engraved at Naturena having opened the Chiefs Village officially a decade ago.

Marketing Director Jessica Motaung told kaizerchiefs.com that the Club is excited to be playing the game in the Eastern Cape; “We are delighted as the Club to be taking this game to Eastern Cape where the Club has always enjoyed a massive support. It is going to be an exciting week as we have planned quite a number of activations in and around Port Elizabeth.

“We will take this opportunity to promote and sell our properties, merchandise, Funeral Services, membership and media properties but most importantly for us the trip gives us an opportunity to interact with our branches in and around Port Elizabeth. We also have community initiatives in store but all will be revealed later this week,” said the visibly delighted Motaung.

The Glamour Boys go to Port Elizabeth this weekend enjoying a good run of form that has seen the team registering five victories and one draw in the Premiership.

“This season for us is all about Reclaiming The Glory; the players have been hard at work together with the Technical Team to ensure that we take the Club back to the glory days. We would like to take this opportunity once more to invite the Club’s faithful to join us, support the team and stop the booing of players. Our belief is that the booing of players is anti-Chiefs and it is an unsporting act that has no place in football,” added Jessica.

Tickets for the game are already on sale at Shoprite/Checkers and Computicket nationwide.

Kickoff is at 18:00.
