During their trip to Polokwane for consecutive Betway Premiership home matches against Richards Bay and Royal AM on Wednesday and Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs players and management participated in two outreach programmes on Thursday - in Seshego and Moletjie - that focused on youth and education in the area.

The Club collaborated with the Polokwane Municipality, the Capricorn South District's Department of Education and sponsors, Vodacom, to support Grade 11 students preparing for their final school year in 2025 in Seshego, as well as all the learners at Mohlapetse Secondary School in Moletjie.

The Polokwane municipality was represented by MMC of Finance, Councillor Tshepo Nkwe, who was the acting Mayor at the event, and Councillor Jerry Mamabolo, the MMC of Sport, who ran the proceedings, while the Department of Education was led by Ms Tinyiko Nkuzana, who is the District Director of Capricorn South.

First-team players Ranga Chivaviro, Happy Mashiane, Zitha Kwinika, Tebogo Potsane and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo visited the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, where 1400 learners from more than 20 high schools gathered to congratulate the Grade 11 learners for their achievements, and encourage them for the year ahead.

The Head of Digital at Kaizer Chiefs, Kemiso Motaung, who addressed the learners at both events described the group experience as “incredibly fulfilling”. She emphasised that “corporate social responsibility is a vital aspect of the organization”. Motaung reiterated the Club’s strategy to “actively engage with youth and communities, particularly in villages and rural areas, where many of Amakhosi supporters reside.”

She expressed excitement about future collaborations in these sort of initiatives, which will include sport activities and highlighted the importance of working with the Polokwane Municipality, community leaders and the Capricorn district's Department of Education for further partnerships going forward.

Towards the end of the programme, 10 learners who excelled academically this year were rewarded with great hampers from Kaizer Chiefs and Vodacom which included merchandise and smartphone. Keitumetse Mpe from Mahlogedi Secondary School, Tumelo Rapudi from Marobathotha Secondary School, Madire Hlakudi from Westenburg Secondary School, Koketso Dolo from Marobathotha, Sekgopetjana Mogale from Makgofe Secondary, Makoenega Dikgale from Marobathotha, Kayla Matjomane from Khaiso Secondary, Mantwa Masegela from Mokwatedi Secondary, Matabo Ramodike and Tlabego Morethe from Marobathotha all went home with hampers.

The second leg of the programme saw the Amakhosi team visit Mohlapetse Secondary School in the village of Moletjie, where they were happily welcomed by the learners and the teacher, as well the councilors of the area.

The team met with traditional leaders, including representatives of Kgoshi Moloto, who were in attendance. The Municipality was represented by Councillor Baloyi from Ward 15 and MMC of Sport, Mamabolo.

Ms. Nkuzana thanked Kaizer Chiefs and the Polokwane Municipality for the events and encouraged them to continue their work in education as the learners and the youth are the future of the country.
