Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed a series of friendlies as part of the pre-season ahead of the tantalising 2017/18 PSL season.
To kick-start the programme, Amakhosi will go on a closed door camp between 9 July and 16 July.
As part of the camp, Amakhosi will participate on 15 July, in a one-day four-team tournament organised under the auspices of Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup.
The Glamour Boys will lock horns at 12:00 against Botswana’s Township Rollers. Preceding the Chiefs-Rollers match, Platinum Stars will face Free State Stars.
The tournament takes place at Orkney’s James Motlatsi Stadium. Tickets for this tournament are on sale at Computicket for R40.
Amakhosi will go over the borders to play in a friendly against Township Rollers in Francistown on Saturday, 22 July, at Francistown Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:00. Ticketing information will be published in due course.
To wrap up pre-season, Carling Black Label Cup will take centre stage when Chiefs take on their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates. The match is billed as the prelude before the start of the PSL season on Saturday, 29 July, at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:00. Ticket Prices Level 1: R100 (unreserved seating), Level 2: R170 (reserved seating) and Level 5: R70 (unreserved seating).
Meanwhile, the club would like to dismiss media speculations linking Kaizer Chiefs with players from other teams. “We have seen names bandied around in the media,” says Football Manager Bobby Motaung. “We would like to reiterate that if there are players that we are interested in to sign we will follow the correct procedure. We do not want to destabilise other clubs and we also don’t want to cause confusion to our supporters. Any player movement will be announced via our official media platforms.”
