An emotional good-bye to Emsa
An emotional good-bye to Emsa

Posted in News on May 29, 2003.

It was an emotional day as the Kaizer Chiefs family bid farewell to long-time Brand Manager Emy Casaletti-Page at the Village on Friday. Emsa takes over her new challenging job at Sail next Monday.

Amakhosi staff, players and business partners all wished Emsa well in her new career path at a surprise lunch held at the Chiefs Village.

Emy's parting shot...

I have been a part of Kaizer Chiefs since 1988 but started working fulltime in 1998. But before 1988 I admired Chiefs from a distance so my relationship with the club is almost 20 years.

Chiefs gave me all the training and experience in this field and Kaizer in particular has been my mentor and taught me a lot of things. It’s thanks to Chiefs that I got the offer from Sail because the club has been like a springboard.

If I had done what I did at Chiefs at any other club chances are that I wouldn’t have been noticed. The fact that I was at Chiefs made everything I did a lot easier because the brand was already big when I started and I just helped to enhance it.

The success that I have achieved at Chiefs is thanks to the fact that it was a strong brand to start off with. You have to take that into account. I can’t, as an individual be held entirely responsible for the growth of Chiefs because it was already a big brand.

The thing about the Kaizer Chiefs brand division is that the systems are in place and everything is well organised with Vivi, Putco and Nhlanhla. The systems are in place for the brand to continue growing successfully.

Well, what am going to miss most about Kaizer Chiefs… definitely Kaizer Motaung! He’s always happy, always jolly, he is never angry and he brings stability to the club. Sometimes when emotions ran high he is always a stabilising factor and he has taught me a lot especially in terms of patience, listening - he is a good listener - and timing in terms of when to say what. I have truly learned a lot from him.

To the supporters I would like to say thank you for all the support and that I am now joining you. I might be leaving Chiefs but I am now joining the supporters as an official supporter with my registered card and I will probably be in the stand with a vuvuzela if Chiefs don’t give me a ticket.

I am not lost to Chiefs as I have become a fully-fledged supporter now and I will always be a Khosi 4 Life!
