Bafana Bafana striker Jason Lakay came from the bench to help Golden Arrows to a narrow 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in a Premier Soccer League game at a packed Olympia Stadium on Saturday.

Lakay came in the 39th minute for Ishmael Peega to score the

all-important goal for the Durbanites in the 87th minute.

It needed another substitute, Lucky Sibeko, to set up the

diminutive striker with a well-calculated cross from the right.

Sibeko, who came for Manqoba Mkhize in the 87th minute, laid a

perfect cross to beat Chiefs defenders Peter Matshitse and David

Kannemeyer before Lakay tapped home.

Chiefs, the hosts, should have taken the lead in the 32nd minute

after Stanton Fredericks mowed down four Arrows players only to be

let down by his final touch - his shot went over the top.

Fredericks was back in the spotlight again four minutes later as Amakhosi mounted pressure in search for a goal.

His cross to Matshitse was headed wide.
