Songs of joy coupled with the voices of ‘Amakhosi a Jabulile’ have been heard from street corners and gathering places alike, following the eight game winning streak by the Glamour Boys during the month of August 2014. Remarkably August 2014, consisted of 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, which saw us playing eight games in twenty eight days. The team played a game in three and a half days.

The inspired month began with a 4 – 0 thumping of the visiting Black Aces in the MTN 8 Cup quarterfinal match played at the FNB Stadium on the 3rd of August 2014. That would set the tone as the Glamour Boys drew inspiration from the Aces results to go on and kick-start the 2014/15 season with a hard fought win over Free State Stars in their own backyard on Women’s Day in Qwaqwa.

We concluded the double over a reorganised and rejuvenated Aces with a 1 – 2 ABSA Premiership win in Mbombela on the 13th of August 2014. The triple riot act was muted over the North West based Platinum Stars in a space of twelve days, first was a 0 – 2 MTN 8 1st Leg aggregate score in Phokeng on 16th of August 2014. The victory was dubbed the Maluleka show after the midfielder scored an exquisite brace of goals. That was followed up by 1 – 0 win over a visiting Celtic with Masango continuing in his goal scoring form.

The double over Platinum Stars was concluded at home on Sunday, the 24th of August, with a 3 – 0 drubbing in the 2nd Leg of the MTN 8 Cup. The Glamour Boys would march on to the 2014 MTN 8 Final with a convincing 5 – 0 aggregate scoreline. Four days later the Glamour Boys wrapped up their dominance over Dikwena with a 0 – 2 win, this time in the ABSA Premiership encounter. The August month winning streak was wrapped up on a chilly evening at home with a 2 – 0 win over SuperSport United.

At the end of August 2014, the Glamour Boys occupied the top spot on the log, winning all five of their fixtures, scoring eight and conceding a solitary goal and bagging fifteen maximum points. To add the cherry on top of a good August, the Glamour Boys are preparing for the Derby 2014 MTN 8 Final against Orlando Pirates to be played on the 20th of September 2014. In all competitions August saw us scoring a whopping seventeen goals. The scorers were Masango with five, Maluleka with three, Letsholonyane with two, Nkhatha with two and Mphela with one.

In August, Masilela notched up three Man of the Matches, followed by Letsholonyane with two and Masango, Mashamaite and Maluleka scooping the other three Man of the Matches.

The Amakhosi will be Inspired for Greatness going into their September 2014 calendar.
