Bafana Bafana Head Coach, Gordon Igesund visited the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Friday morning accompanied by his assistants, Thomas Madigage and Serame Letsoaka.

They were welcomed by Football Manager Bobby Motaung, Head Coach Stuart Baxter and the Marketing Director Jessica Motaung.

They held a brief meeting to discuss the future plans of the national team including how Kaizer Chiefs and other clubs can play an important role in building a strong national squad. Chiefs’ players were introduced to the coaches. Kaizer Chiefs Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung met and welcomed the trio in the process.

Chiefs’ Head Coach Stuart Baxter was first to speak and emphasised to the players the importance of hard work. “There will be no one who will wear the national team jersey without hard work. I will personally work with the national team Coach and advise him on who is working hard. I will be the person that will speak on behalf of the players,” Baxter

Gordon Igesund used the opportunity to speak to the players where he emphasised to them that he was looking forward to working with some of them.

“We will work closely with Clubs, and we will be attending games and also training sessions. We need super fit players in the national team and it’s up to the clubs to produce them. At times we only have about four days with them and that is spent on tactical work,” Igesund

“We wish you all the best for the season and keep up the good work,” he added.

The visiting Bafana Bafana Coaches were given an opportunity to watch the morning training session and were impressed with the facilities at the Village including the quality of the newly acquired players for the new season.
